Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, in collaboration with Leica. This smartphone is designed to cater to the needs of photography enthusiasts and professionals alike, boasting a quad-camera system with a 1-inch sensor and a variable aperture. In addition, it is packed with premium flagship Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 performance, an ultra-grade WQHD+ display, and a classic design, making it the ultimate smartphone for anyone seeking a professional camera experience.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a sleek and modern design. It measures 163.18mm x 74.64mm x 9.06mm and weighs 227g. It’s available in three colors: Black, White, and Olive Green. The front of the phone is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus®, while the back is made of antibacterial nanotech silicone leather.

The display on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is stunning. It has a 120Hz WQHD+ 6.73″ AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels. It has a 23mm variable aperture 1-inch main camera that boasts a 50MP wide-angle sensor. The sensor size is 1″, and the pixel size is 1.6μm. It’s also equipped with a 3.2μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel, f/1.9, f/4.0, HyperOIS, and an 8P aspherical lens.

The phone also has a 75mm Leica telephoto camera and a 120mm Leica super-telephoto camera. Both of these cameras have a 50MP IMX858 sensor and OIS. Leica optics, to build the perfect Summicron Lens of Leica in mobile imaging

The collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica has taken another significant step in advancing mobile imaging technology. By upgrading the Summicron lens for mobile imaging in the optical system, they have brought about a “coming-of-age ceremony in mobile imaging.”

The Leica optical system of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has inherited the optical concept of the Leica M series, making it compact, with a large aperture, high imaging performance, reliability, and durability. The lens adopts an ultra high-order polynomial design, allowing the precision of design to reach a nanometer level, nearing the optical limit. Meanwhile, a multi-layer coating greatly reduces glare and ghosting, presenting stable performance in extremely cold and extremely hot environments.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is equipped with a quad camera system, featuring Leica optical lenses that cover focal lengths ranging from 12mm (ultra-wide angle), 23mm (wide angle), 75mm (telephoto), to the new 120mm (super-telephoto). It also has extra 46mm and 240mm lengths through the In-Sensor-Zoom, providing users with full degree of focal length flexibility.
